We Won! This year's #OceanHero awards saw us crowned as the An Taisce Clean Coasts Group of the Year for 2019. There was another surprise in store as founding member Proinsias Ó Tuama was also awarded as the Individual of the Year. The ceremony took place on the 3rd of December in The Medley in Dublin, and was attended by the Minister of Housing, Planning and Local Government Eoghan Murphy TD.
This is the second major win for us this year as back in April we were also conferred as Cork County Council's Group of the Year in the County Mayoral awards. This is not an individual effort but rather the collective effort of many people with an array of skills and talents who contribute to the East Cork coastline. We thank our regular 250 volunteers who come out in all seasons to mind what we have on our doorstep. If you ever wanted to know what we are about, check out this video from Clean Coasts.
